For a 200 MB JSON file, that means roughly 200 MB for the string plus 400–800 MB for the parsed object tree (V8's object overhead is significant) — call it 600 MB to 1 GB of resident memory for a single parse. At 2 GB the process will likely OOM-kill before completing. The fix is always some form of streaming or chunking.
