Frequently Asked Questions
Does this tool strip the EXIF data?
This tool reads and displays EXIF data — it does not strip it. To remove metadata, convert the image to PNG using the Image Converter (Canvas API strips EXIF on conversion).
Why does my image have no EXIF data?
Many apps (WhatsApp, Twitter, Facebook) strip EXIF data when you share or upload images. Screenshots never have EXIF data.
Can GPS data in photos reveal my location?
Yes. EXIF GPS data can pinpoint where a photo was taken. Before sharing photos publicly, strip EXIF using the image export from the Image Converter.
